Precision Moulds has teamed up with CAD design company Incat to provide OEM customers
with a design-to-production services.
CPM
managing director Bob Maidment said the deal means the firm can can now offer
customers a full part design service alongside its mould-making and moulding services.
"We will be
able to design parts and manufacture complete mould tools up to one tonne in three
to four weeks and produce the plastics parts;' he said.
Maidment:

only touched on part and product design. By joining forces with meat we can offer
OEMs high-quality design using the latest surfacing and 3D modelling software.
It's an extra service for customers that want someone to design the parts, make
the tools and mould the plastics parts."
The
agreement is an extension of an existing relationship. meat is one of IBM's largest
Catia resellers and has been supporting CPM's drafting systems for several years.
